Topic:  Next Quarter Meet Times

  • Next quarter meetings will be split into two days, a primary meet which will happen on Mon. at 5 and a Secondary meet that will be on Thurs. at 5.
  • Current suggestions for the Ink Spot Picnic location are Al Lopez, and Howard Park. Please, any members with any other ideas are welcome to speak up. We also need to settle on a Day for the picnic as well.
  • Suggestions for the quarterly club field trip so far is a Flexographic Plant
  • We have the money for the website but it must be approved by school officials before posting. Any ideas for site designs contact Alex Swanson.
  • No Meeting Next Week!
  • First meeting of the new quarter begins 3 – 31 – 08
  • And any members that want to volunteer for this years PYHOT contact Tod Herron.

  • We’re discussing the possibility of taking a day to take a tour of a professional design studio.

-Students partaking in the Ophelia Project need to turn work in ASAP!

-AIGA has a business conference happening in NYC. Price to attend if you are a student and a member

  Is $325, almost 75% off the regular member price.

-Possibly going to try and have a club picnic at the end of the quarter.

Topic: Projects & 3rd Quarter Review 

  • New officers:  President-Ryan; Vice-Pres. – Shawna; Secretary- Jenn; Treasure-Isahia; Webmaster- Alex.
  • Ophelia Group meet this Sunday at 3:00 for 15 minutes only.
  • Next Thurs. at 5 pm there will be a meeting in room 243 on a logo redesign project for any members that are interested.
  • 3rd Quarter Review: is basically to find out where the student stands after basic classes. Bring best work from EACH class for the review. Be confident in work and bring process for work.
  • Make sure Tod Herron gets everyone’s email
  • Brief meeting next week everyone show that can make it

Inkspot design club meeting

- talked about the email Tod sent out about the group who folded and cut the UPARC cards. Congratulations to all who helped.
-One card may be chosen to be the A.i. holiday card

-We should do one more non profit like Paint Your Heart Out. So start thinking of ideas.

-If you know anyone who you would like to have as a guest speaker, email Tod.

-We need nominations for all new officers. It will be 6 months in January and go until June. Then it will move to a full year for officers. Have nominations in by week 9. Either email Alex or Tod

-We need 10 people to join AIGA, particularily newbies

-We are looking for logos, put them in Tod’s drop off folder

-Invite newbies to the club!!!

-We will meet in 2 weeks, no meeting next week.

Notes:

  • Inkspot file in dropoff ( card 2) Tod’s folder
    • Create holiday cards for Uparc (specifically Christmas)
    • Cards can be horizontal or vertical
    • The inside is left blank, your name goes on the back with email, website, etc.
    • Create a folder for yourself in Tod’s Inkspot folder
  • Add 2 Tampa Bay comes October 30th
    • Basically a local AIGA (more info to come…) [like AIGA, but advertisers]
  • NEDAW needs graphics for exhibition on anorexia [need a design team]
    • February 24- March 1
  • Open House is November 3 from 10-2.
    • Need 1 or 2 officers to come to give info about the club [Alex & Stella agreed]
  • If you want, design a logo for Inkspot and put it in the drop off. We’ll discuss logos at a later time. [logo submit folder]
  • For now, SUBMIT CARDS OR TOD WILL GET YOU!!!!
